Built in 1885 the historic architecture of our original buildings combined with modern, state of the art resources, across our award winning 160 acres of beautiful green campus provides the ideal landscape to host an unforgettable conference or event.
It is not just the warm welcome, state-of-the-art facilities and idyllic setting that set us apart from other educational conference venues. We also offer the following benefits to enhance your experience:
- good transport links to the North West, just a short drive from Junction 3 of the M58 and a 15 minute walk from Ormskirk train station for regular connections to Liverpool and Preston
- a landscaped campus including rose gardens, reed bed, rocky stream, piazza area and lakes
- self-contained site with extensive amenities, from cash machines to catering outlets, a general store and 24-hour security
- the Arts Centre, a favourite of visiting professional theatre and dance companies. Events and performances are open to conference delegates and the Rose can also be hired for private use.
- Edge Hill Sport, our 25 acre sporting and recreational complex, is fully accessible to wheelchair users and others with disabilities and offers some of the best facilities in the North West
- majority of buildings, teaching rooms, social areas and leisure facilities accessible to delegates with a variety of impairments. Hearing loops are installed in the main lecture theatres and a portable loop is available, lifts and accessible toilets are available in all conference buildings and there are designated parking spaces around campus.

Location
Based in the historic market town of Ormskirk, our universities location is perfect for knowledge sharing, inspiration, education, and thought-provoking debate. We are located between two of the UK’s major Northwestern cities – Liverpool and Manchester. By taking a 15-minute walk outside of campus, you are connected to Liverpool City centre, Preston and Manchester via the Merseyrail train network. Our site also provides quick access to the M58 motorway.

Catering
We have over 50 years of combined event catering experience and we pride ourselves on offering outstanding catering services. With a wide range of locally sourced ingredients spread across an array of different dining concepts, from informal BBQ’s to our street food style Pizza truck for outdoor gatherings. From large scale buffets to a dining menu in our Sages restaurant for up to 120 people.
We understand that every event is unique, that is why we will work with you to create a tailor-made event experience, serving a dinner for your guests to remember.
The Hub offers excellent dining, retail and social experience facilities for all our students, staff and visitors.
Sages, whilst normally used by our students for day-to-day meals, can be booked privately for lunches or dinners for up to 120 people.
Accommodation
Thinking of hosting an event with us over the summer? We have residential event bookings available from the end of June until the middle of September. With options for shared rooms, individual or ensuite as well as developing summer catering packages with our team, our accommodation is available in a variety of different formats.
