Understanding student finance can be difficult, especially when it’s your first time applying for it. And its importance makes it top of the priority list when thinking about university.
Student finance advice
Fees and funding for university is probably the first thing to consider before submitting your university application. Applying for student finance is an important step. If you’re looking into applying for student finance for the first time, you probably have lots of questions. And you won’t be the only one wanting to find out more.
Our Money Advice Team are on hand to make funding options easy to find, even before you start studying with us. And they’re always looking to understand what students are thinking about finance. Recently, the team asked our students to complete a short survey about how we can improve the way we present funding and finance information. Not only are our team listening to the voices of our students, but they’re also sharing their findings with the Student Loans Company. With members of our team attending the National Association of Student Money Advisers annual conference. One of our students Lauren, who completed the survey also bagged an Amazon voucher for doing so, shares her experiences and tips for applying for student finance and additional funding.
“The application process was easy to navigate. But I needed help due to being in the process of moving house, so I had a different home address at the start of the process compared to the end. But now that it’s all in place, everything is great.”

“I attended presentations held by the Money Advice Team. These were optional but I wanted all the information that they could provide. And it was great. I was able to speak with the Money Advice Team face-to-face. So I could ask questions relating to my own situation.”
