Gemma Grady Hill is currently studying for an MA in Nineteenth-Century Studies and works closely with EHU Nineteen, Edge Hill’s interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to the art, culture and politics of the Nineteenth Century.
In her new role, Gemma plans to expand the existing relationship between The Atkinson and Edge Hill, creating new opportunities for research and exhibitions.
Gemma said: “I adore living in Southport and can frequently be found at the Atkinson enjoying the exhibitions and productions.
“I am keen to explore opportunities to build on the links that exist between Edge Hill University and The Atkinson, incorporating the excellent academic research into the history, culture and literature of the nineteenth century which has shaped so much of our modern world.”
Gemma previously worked for the National Trust Consultancy Team for over 12 years. During this time, she was an expert adviser for several major National Trust Visitor Welcome projects across the North West.
She has also held various leadership roles in the private and third sectors. As a volunteer, she has served as a Trustee on the Board of Directors for Lancashire Wildlife Trust since 2018.
