This course serves as an introduction to art, music, drama, and dance movement therapy, collectively known as arts therapies or arts psychotherapies. Arts therapists use creative processes within therapy to promote emotional, psychological, and social well-being. These professionals are trained at the Master’s level, earning the necessary licensure to practice and are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and/or UK Council for Psychotherapy.
While this introductory course does not provide licensure to practice as an arts therapist, it offers comprehensive information and practical experience in each of the different arts therapies. Participants will explore one therapy per day over four sessions.
