Specific entry requirements may differ for each programme, but the information detailed below provides general requirements and some guidance. More information on specific courses can be found in the course catalogue. Each application is assessed on its own merit.

English language requirements for individual courses may vary but the minimum requirements can be found online.

Pre-sessional English

Our Pre-Sessional English course is designed for international applicants who need to improve their English language skills to meet the entry criteria for their target degree. The course is perfect if your IELTS score is between half a band and one-and-a-half bands lower, either overall or in one or two elements, than the standard entry requirements.

We offer two course durations to suit your needs:

  • Five-week course: Suitable if your IELTS score is half a band lower.
  • Ten-week course: Suitable if your IELTS score is one band lower.

Foundation

The Edge Hill Foundation Year is a four-year integrated program designed to prepare students for their chosen undergraduate degree. It combines a one-year foundation program with a three-year undergraduate course. The foundation year focuses on strengthening academic skills and providing an introduction to the student’s chosen field, ensuring a solid preparation for their degree studies. There are two pathways: STEM Foundation or Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Foundation

Entry requirements:

Applicants should have a “Namibia Senior Secondary Certificate” for entry onto Degree with Foundation Year.

Undergraduate

Applicants should have a “Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate (COHSC)” with grades as per A Level requirements to access undergraduate courses.

Applicants with a recognised foundation year or an International Baccalaureate will also be considered for direct entry to Undergraduate programmes.

Postgraduate

Applicants should have a Bachelor Honours Degree / Professional Bachelor’s Degree (post 2008) with a minimum of 60-69% overall. to access postgraduate courses.
