At Edge Hill University, we are proud of our rich history of welcoming students from all walks of life. We understand the transformative power of higher education and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive student body that go on to do incredible things.

We recognise that students from disadvantaged backgrounds often face significant barriers to higher education. To help address these challenges, we are proud to introduce our Fair Entry Criteria, a thoughtful initiative aimed at creating a more inclusive and supportive admissions process that gives all students the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Our new Fair Entry Criteria is a Contextual Admissions Policy that takes an applicant’s personal and educational background into account. By considering the challenges students may have faced, we aim to provide a fairer admissions process while maintaining the high academic standards Edge Hill University is known for.

This policy will allow eligible applicants to receive up to a two-grade reduction in their entry requirements for most courses, ensuring that students with great potential are not held back by circumstances beyond their control.
