Each year Student Life recruit a small team of Campus Connectors to support their events programme for the upcoming academic year, as well as a larger team of Student Helpers to support with Welcome Weekend.
Campus Connectors support a range of student experience orientated events and activities throughout the year and Student Helpers work collaboratively with FM to support students moving into halls over Welcome Weekend.

What do Campus Connectors and Student Helpers do?
There’s a range of opportunities available throughout the year but the core element of every role is to welcome students to Edge Hill and help them settle into university life. You’ll be a friendly face who has a good knowledge and understanding of life as an Edge Hill student. Helping to inform students about campus and the local area, upcoming events, student groups, opportunities and support services.
However, the roles do have significant differences:
Campus Connector
A yearlong opportunity with variable hours to suit you for a range of events and opportunities within the Student Life team (no minimum requirement of hours per week)
Marketing Campus Connector
A yearlong opportunity with set term time hours to create social media content and graphics, and monitor social platforms for the Student Life team (minimum of 4 hours per week)
Student Helper
This role is for Welcome Weekend only, where you will physically help students move into halls. You must complete the two-hour online training (WC 16 September) and commit to working on 27 and 28 September 2025.

Yes, it’s totally up to you. You can select which roles you’re interested in when you book your place on the Campus Connector and Student Helper Recruitment Day.
If you have changed your mind since you filled out the expression of interest form, don’t worry. Include your updated preferences within the booking for the recruitment day.
How do I book a place on the Recruitment Day and is there a deadline?
The only way to book your place is on the Student Life Portal. You will need to complete your booking by 9am on Tuesday 6 May.
Campus Connector and Student Helper Recruitment Day
The deadline for booking your place on the Campus Connector and Student Helper Recruitment Day is 9am on Tuesday 6 May. Attending this day is a compulsory part of the recruitment process for all the roles. If you don’t book your place by this deadline and you cannot attend this day, unfortunately you won’t be considered for the upcoming year.
The recruitment day will take place on Tuesday 20 May. You will receive full details once you book your place. Please ensure you’re available from 9am-4pm if you want to be considered for a Campus Connector role. For Student Helper recruitment please ensure you’re available between 9am-12.30pm.
Campus Connector interviews
Interviews for Campus Connectors will take place on Tuesday 10 or Wednesday 11 June.
Training
Campus Connector training will take place on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 June.
Student Helper training: two-hour online training will take place WC 15 September.
Welcome Weekend 2025
Welcome Weekend will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September. Both Campus Connectors and Student Helpers will need to be available on these dates.
Campus Connector events
As a Campus Connector, you must also commit to working with the Student Life team throughout the 2025-26 academic year.
I have filled out the expressions of interest form, do I still need to book a place on the Recruitment Day?
Yes. The expression of interest form ensured that you were directly emailed about the next stage, once it went live.
You should have now received a follow up email from the Student Life Team directing you to book you place. If you don’t book a place, you won’t be considered for the roles.
I have never done a recruitment day before, can I access any help and support to feel more prepared?

You can also pop along to the in-person drop-in on Friday 2 May, 1–3pm at the Student Life Arch (the Hub).

We want to make our recruitment experience a positive and inclusive one. Below you can find our accessibility information:
Location
The Campus Connector and Student Helper Recruitment Day will be taking place in Creative Edge. There is disabled parking bays located in Car Park C which is directly next to the Creative Edge building. There are also accessible toilets on every floor from the basement up to the second floor.
Wheelchair Access
The chosen space is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Most of the initial tasks will take place on the Ground Floor, with a lift available for easy access to the 1st and 2nd floors.

How will the day run?
Registration will open at 9am and close at 10am. You need to have completed registration in order to take part in the day so it’s advised to get there in plenty of time.
At 10am you’ll get a full briefing and introduction to the day but elements will include:
a written task
one group task for those only wanting to apply to be a Student Helper
two written tasks for those wanting to apply to be a Campus Connector
one extra task for those wishing to take on social media responsibilities
For Student Helper applicants the day will finish at approximately 12.30pm. Anyone applying for the Campus Connector roles, the day will finish at approximately 3pm.
