Our campus

You’ll find us in Ormskirk, a unique, historical town in the heart of Lancashire with so much to offer. Experience the best of both worlds, the close-knit community of a campus, with easy access to Liverpool and Manchester city centres for culture, shopping and nights out.

Our 160 acre campus is something special. Recognised by Green Flag as one of the UK’s best green spaces for 13 successive years, it provides an award-winning environment for you to live, study, relax and socialise.

Investing in you

Over 15 years we have invested more than £350 million in our outstanding study spaces, sports facilities, accommodation and simulated workplaces.

Most recently, we have opened more of our award-winning on-campus accommodation, a state-of-the-art Life Sciences building, and our new Students’ Union.

Inclusive and supportive

We’re here to support you throughout your journey at Edge Hill. Whether that’s offering wellbeing guidance, money advice, or helping you deal with a difficult situation.

We celebrate and value the diversity of our staff and students and recognise that every individual brings an invaluable contribution to our community. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and welcoming environment and we encourage a culture where equity is promoted, diversity is valued and the rights of all are respected.

Fair Entry

We are proud of our rich history of welcoming students from all walks of life. Our new Fair Entry Criteria is a Contextual Admissions Policy that takes an applicant’s personal and educational background into account.

This allows eligible applicants to receive up to a two-grade reduction in their entry requirements for most courses, ensuring that students with great potential are not held back by circumstances beyond their control.

World-leading research

We set out to deliver teaching of the highest standard informed by research of true international standing.

Don’t just take our word for it, more than half of Edge Hill’s research was classed as ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’ in the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021.

A sustainable future

Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We are committed to improving the environmental performance of our University for the benefit of our students, staff, stakeholders and the wider community. With event, campaigns and our yearly Sustainability Fair, there are plenty of ways that you can get involved to expand your understanding of how to boost sustainability for the future.

As a major employer and consumer of resources we recognise our responsibility to lead the way and work hard to contribute towards achieving the UN Sustainability Goals around the global challenges we face relating to inequality, environmental degradation and climate. It’s also why we have been rated a Platinum Tier University for our Green Commitments (Uswitch Green Universities 2023).

Award-winning

Across the board we continue to win awards for our campus, facilities, accommodation and much more.
