Psychology courses
Edge Hill offers a variety of outstanding opportunities for studying psychology at university.
We offer six very popular undergraduate degree programmes, four of which are accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). Our new programmes with Forensic and Clinical and Health pathways are currently pending BPS accreditation approval. We offer two BPS accredited postgraduate taught courses. Our MSc Health Psychology is the Stage 1 training for those wishing to become a Health Psychologist. Our MSc Conversion course allows graduates in disciplines other than psychology with the opportunity to obtain Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Students who study at Edge Hill will benefit from a research-active department with subjects taught from academics who are specialists in their fields. We have members of our team that are at the forefront of national and international research in a number of key areas of psychology, which has allowed us to develop such a rich portfolio of undergraduate degrees.
Our Department of Psychology occupies a modern, purpose-built building with high quality teaching and research facilities. Our students are encouraged to use these research facilities for their final year dissertation projects. Our students are of the upmost importance to us. We focus on providing undergraduates with an experience that will afford them the skills necessary for the future and their careers beyond academia. The work students conduct during their dissertation projects, or as part of our Psychology Department Research Internship scheme can also lead to some of that work being published in Psychology Journal articles.
