Agents of Change -IWD corporate event 2023 -

To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, Edge Hill University will host Agents of Change. This special panel event will bring together three inspirational women activists and campaigners for real change.

The free event on Tuesday 7 March will feature a panel discussion about their individual stories, what inspired them to be the change, hurdles they have faced in pursuing their goals and how they overcame these challenges. There will also be a Q&A session for the audience to ask questions.

The inspirational women we will be hearing from are:

Natalie Denny, founder of The Period Project Merseyside – a charity campaigning to end period poverty and co-founder of the Goddess Projects – working with women of colour to help empower, inspire and assist them to achieve their goals.

Michelle Livesey, chief reporter at Hits Radio, Michelle was instrumental in driving about changes to the law following the brutal murder of Clare Woods at the hands of her partner who had a history of domestic violence.

Alice Jackson, Founder of the award-winning initiative Strut Safe, set up following the murder of Sarah Everard by an off-duty police offer as she walked home from a friend’s house. Strut Safe is a free UK-wide phone service initiative to help anyone who feels unsafe when walking in public.
