Anti-Racism Film Club Launch Event
Join us for the launch of Edge Hill’s Anti-Racism Film Club, an innovative space for students and staff to explore anti-racism and social justice through the power of film. Each session will feature a thought-provoking screening followed by an open discussion on the themes, messages, and real-world impact of the film.
Our inaugural film, Rocks (2019), is a critically acclaimed British drama directed by Sarah Gavron. The film follows the journey of a teenage girl navigating friendship, resilience, and survival after being abandoned by her mother. With an authentic and diverse cast, Rocks offers a powerful exploration of race, identity, and systemic inequalities in contemporary Britain. Come along, watch, reflect, and engage in meaningful conversations. Let’s challenge perspectives and inspire change—one film at a time.
Refreshments will be available free of charge before the event. The event will start at 3:30pm.
Tickets: Free, booking required
