I have always loved studying psychology and learning more about the human mind and behaviours. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in psychology, it was meant for me.

Edge Hill was a clear choice for me. It was suggested to me by my career adviser at college. Through research and open days, I discovered all the opportunities I had to gain experience while studying, such as study abroad, placement years/semesters, and internship programmes. This kind of experience is super important for the field I am pursuing.

Spending a summer abroad in Mexico has been the best experience of my life. The experience made me learn so much about the Mexican culture and I created so many friendships. I am very grateful to have got this opportunity.

I had the opportunity to volunteer as a research helper in first year. This allowed me to experience the behind-the-scenes of conducting research and is really useful for my future. Opportunities to grow knowledge in extracurricular activities have been presented so clearly.

The best thing about Edge Hill University is the constant care for their students both academically and personally. Student fairs, pop-up shops and activities around campus every couple of weeks show that Edge Hill wants us to have fun as well as study hard. Not to mention the actual campus itself, home to the ducks.

I am the first in my family to go to university in another country and learn in another language. I hope to graduate with a First, plenty of experience and at least one publication. This will help me as I pursue a Masters and Doctorate.

Learn the best study method for you and organise your time effectively, but make sure to have fun. Join as many societies as you want and try anything you have in mind. Three years isn’t a lot, so make them the best three years you can.
