Edge Hill was my first choice. The university offers great opportunities as well as facilities that made it stand out when compared to other possible options. It is local for me and having grown up in the area, I find it a great place to spend my time.

I was inspired by my dad to study engineering at university. Growing up I have watched my dad work in lots of different sectors of the engineering field. After travelling to many workplaces with him, mechanical engineering really stood out to me as something that I wanted to learn more about.

Communication is one big skill I have harnessed during my time at Edge Hill thanks to other students as well as staff members who try and ensure all valuable skills are learned. Time management is crucial in every aspect of life and after coming to Edge Hill I feel my skills in this have drastically improved thanks to my tutors.

My most memorable moment of my degree so far was completing the construction and coding for my robotic arm and plugging it in. I will never forget the happiness I had when I was able to completely control something I had built for the first time.

One of my favourite things about Edge Hill University is the freeness that is felt while you are here. This is due to it not being located in a city centre but still having the option to go to close by cities.

The Tech Hub is my favourite location on campus due to all the interesting technology being there such as VR headsets, the CAVE and fully functioning robots.

During my time at Edge Hill I have also been provided with an incredible opportunity to travel to Spain to study Spanish and Spanish culture at another university. This was funded by the Edge Hill Student Opportunity Fund.

If anyone was considering studying at Edge Hill University I would advise them to visit the campus and experience what life is actually like when completing your studies.
