I enjoyed my course, my confidence was boosted and I had a real sense of achievement. I’d been thinking about studying for a degree for a long time but didn’t think it would be possible.
I saw Edge Hill’s Fastrack course advertised, and after completing it and loving it I started on the BSc (Hons) Business & Management with Human Resource Management degree. I really wanted to study and work in human resources. I’m a real people person and this course was recommended as the best option for that career path. It also turned out to be the best option for me personally as I have a passion for helping people.
I particularly enjoyed anything interactive, where I could contribute to a debate but also learn from other people in the class. I also learnt a lot during my work placement in the HR department of a local college. It gave me a real insight into the practical side of the HR function.
The business part of this course was also very important to me as, in the long run, I want to run my own company. I’m already a hobby baker with a strong social media following and I know that the business start-up, finance, HR and business strategy aspects I studied are going to help. On the other hand, if I decide to work for someone else I can walk into any department in an organisation. This degree gives you a lot of options.
One of the best things about Edge Hill University is that it is very supportive and inclusive. Everyone you speak to is willing to listen and help. My tutors were fantastic, they were so approachable and happy to give you the support you need. I’m also attended UniSkills classes to help with academic writing which helped me make even more progress.
