Whilst at Edge Hill University, we want your focus to be on studying, exploring our campus and immersing yourself in our student experience. That’s why we have provided a guide on tuition fees. Expand your horizons on a study abroad year, take advantage of campus facilities, and take up a new sport.
For full-time undergraduate home students starting in academic years 2023/24 and 2024/25, the following are included in the cost of your tuition fees:
- Teaching and assessments on your course
- Library and IT facilities
- Student support, careers and wellbeing services
- Students’ Union membership
- Field trips that are part of your course, including any travel and accommodation
- Shuttle bus between the campus and Ormskirk
- Parking on the Edge Hill University campus in Ormskirk (subject to availability, for eligible non-residents)
- 250 printing credits each year and access to free printers
- Campus Wifi
There are a range of additional benefits and experiences that are available thanks to your tuition fees. Whether you want to embark on a sandwich year in the country of your dreams, or be the first to see the latest films and stage plays, there are plenty of options.
Optional additional benefits
- Sandwich year (the cost of the tuition fee will be met by the University).
- Study abroad year (the cost of the tuition fee will be met by the University).
- Language learning in free Evening Language Courses.
- Four-week free trial membership at Edge Hill Sport.
- Four free tickets per semester for events at the Arts Centre.
Depending on your course, we will be able to provide you with essentials. Your first set of uniforms and lab coats are on us, and we will contribute towards travel and accommodation costs on professional Education programmes.
Course-specific benefits
- DBS checks for students who are required to have clearance as a condition of admission. Please note, additional DBS checks and/or professional body memberships required for optional placements or due to interruption of studies are not included in tuition fees.
- First set of uniforms and specialist clothing required by placements settings (replacements may incur a fee).
- First set of lab coats and scrubs when required on course for health and safety reasons (replacements may incur a fee).
- Contributions to travel and accommodation costs on professional programmes in Education and Pre-Registration Health.
- Graduation ceremony with guest tickets and refreshments
What’s not included in your tuition fees?
The following are not included in your tuition fees and will need to be self-funded:
- Living costs (covered by Maintenance Loans for eligible students)
- Residential accommodation costs
- Text books and equipment you choose to buy
- Professional body memberships that you choose to take
- Costs for optional field trips and placements
- Food and drink on field trips, fieldwork and placements unless otherwise provided
- Travel to, and parking at, study sites other than the Edge Hill University campus in Ormskirk
- Clothing for playing or studying sport, performance work, or outdoor field trips.
- SpLD Learning Needs Assessments (contributions as required by Government)
- Gown hire for graduation, and graduation photography if you choose to purchase it
