Our halls of residence
If you attend an open day, you can take a self-guided tour of our accommodation.
You’ll be able to see rooms, kitchens and common areas to get a feel for each of our halls of residence and choose which one is right for you.
Guaranteed accommodation
We can guarantee a room on campus for all first-year, full-time UK undergraduate students.
You just need to submit an application by the agreed deadline and make Edge Hill your firm choice. You’ll even get to choose your own room to secure the best spot on campus.

Our halls of residence
Our rents are below the national average, and we never implement big increases (student accommodation costs report: Unipol and HEPI). So you can choose a home from home that suits your budget.
If you’re accepted onto an undergraduate degree programme, you can even self-assign your room using our Accommodation portal. This means you can choose anywhere on campus with availability.
Living off-campus
If you prefer more independence, there is a variety of privately owned accommodation around the Ormskirk campus and surrounding the area, such as Liverpool, Southport and St Helens.
Living off campus, you will still have access to all the University’s support services, IT and library resources, catering outlets, launderette, social areas, and activities.

We want your time at Edge Hill University to be as comfortable as possible, and choosing where to live is a big part of the university experience.
Our private accommodation portal
When you study at Edge Hill as a postgraduate student, you can register an account on our private accommodation portal, Studentpad. The platform will send you email alerts whenever accommodation becomes available that matches your preferences.
Studentpad can help you find the ideal place to live, whether it’s a house within easy walking distance of campus, or a place in a nearby town like Liverpool, Southport, Wigan, or St Helens.
Join our campus community
Whichever off-campus location you choose, you’ll still be able to participate in university life. As an Edge Hill student, you’ll have access to great facilities, resources, and support services. The only difference to our on-campus students is that you won’t be sleeping here.
